What it means when you work with us:

  • Your finance team can record us as a supplier with a TRA TIN, the identifier supplier and tender forms in Tanzania commonly ask for.
  • We quote our TIN on quotes, invoices and supplier registration forms.
  • Quotes and invoices are in US dollars, paid by international wire transfer or card.

The TIN is a tax registration. Jeedesigns LLC is incorporated in Wyoming, USA, and our engineers work from Kannur, India. We do not have an office in Tanzania: we work with Tanzanian clients by WhatsApp, email and video call.

Selling online in Tanzania

Three things decide whether a Tanzanian website wins customers.

Phones first, and not all smart

Tanzania had 62.79 million internet subscriptions in June 2026, but smartphone penetration was 44.74% (TCRA, via TanzaniaInvest). Pages have to be light, quick on mobile data and usable on modest Android phones.

Customers pay with mobile money

Active mobile money accounts reached 87.05 million in June 2026, and M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas and Airtel Money held 89.78% of them in March (TCRA, via TanzaniaInvest). A checkout that only takes cards turns most buyers away.

Then they message you

Many buyers ask a question on WhatsApp before they pay, and not only during office hours. Answering in seconds rather than the next morning is often what wins the sale, which is the job of a WhatsApp AI agent.

Mobile money at checkout

Take M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money and cards in one checkout.

We connect your store to a payment provider licensed by the Bank of Tanzania, so one integration covers the main wallets and cards, and every order is marked paid the moment the customer confirms.

How a mobile money checkout works

  1. The customer picks a wallet (M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money or HaloPesa) and enters their phone number.
  2. Their phone shows a payment prompt, and they confirm with their PIN. No card, no app switch.
  3. The provider tells your store, which marks the order paid and sends a confirmation by WhatsApp or SMS.
  4. If they do not confirm in time, the order waits and they can try again without being charged twice.

Providers to choose from include Selcom, AzamPay, Pesapal, ClickPesa and DPO Pay. We help you compare their quotes and set up the one that fits.

Shopify or WooCommerce in Tanzania?

Shopify Payments is not offered in Tanzania (Shopify), so a Shopify store takes payments through a third-party provider such as Pesapal or DPO Pay. Shopify then adds its own fee on those payments: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow and 0.6% on Advanced on its published pricing (Shopify), on top of the provider’s charge.

WooCommerce has no platform fee and plugins for more Tanzanian providers, but someone has to look after hosting, updates and security. We do that on a care plan, or train your team.

Who we build for

Built around how Tanzanian businesses sell.

Safari and tour operators

Websites that sell packages to overseas travellers, take card deposits and answer enquiries on WhatsApp across time zones.

Tour operator websites →

Hotels, lodges and resorts

Direct booking pages, room and rate content that search engines understand, and fast replies to booking questions.

Real estate

Listings with photos, maps and WhatsApp enquiry buttons, plus an agent that asks buyers and tenants the right questions first.

Schools and colleges

Admissions and fee pages, application forms, and WhatsApp updates for parents and students.

Clinics, pharmacies and labs

Service pages Google understands, appointment booking, and WhatsApp reminders that help cut no-shows.

Retail and distribution

Online catalogues and stores with mobile money, delivery zones and order tracking, for shops and wholesalers.

Across Tanzania

Remote delivery to every city, with the local details that matter.

Dar es Salaam

The commercial capital and the largest market for online stores, professional services and B2B suppliers. We set up delivery zones and area pages for the parts of the city you serve.

Arusha and Moshi

The gateway to the northern safari circuit and Kilimanjaro, with many tour operators, lodges and NGOs. Sites here sell to overseas visitors, so card deposits and quick replies across time zones matter.

Zanzibar

Hotels, resorts and excursion companies that sell mainly to visitors from Europe. Italy, France and the United Kingdom were Zanzibar’s leading source markets in 2025 (Bank of Tanzania), so pages in Italian and French can pay off.

Mwanza

The Lake Zone’s trading hub, with wholesalers, logistics firms and agribusiness. Catalogues, quote requests and WhatsApp ordering help buyers across the region order without a visit.

Dodoma

The capital, with government institutions, universities and a growing services sector. Clear, accessible sites help institutions and their suppliers publish what people need to find.

Anywhere else

Mbeya, Morogoro, Tanga, Iringa or anywhere else in Tanzania. We work remotely with every client, so where you are never limits what we can build.

Jeedesigns LLC is registered with the Tanzania Revenue Authority and holds Taxpayer Identification Number 211-448-741, with effect from 13 October 2026. The company is incorporated in Wyoming, USA, and our engineering team works from Kannur, Kerala, India. You can see the certificate on this page.
No. We work with Tanzanian clients remotely, by WhatsApp, email and video call, during Tanzanian working hours. Everything from the first review to launch and training happens online.
Quotes and invoices are in US dollars. The fixed price is split into milestones tied to deliverables, and you pay each one by international wire transfer or by card when its deliverable is ready. See how our pricing works.
Yes. We connect your website or store to a Tanzanian payment provider licensed by the Bank of Tanzania, such as Selcom, AzamPay, Pesapal or ClickPesa, so customers can pay with the main mobile money wallets and with cards. You agree the provider’s fees with them directly. Our mobile money guide compares the options.
Published price lists from Tanzanian web designers start at about TZS 120,000 for a four-page site and run past TZS 5,000,000 for custom and e-commerce work, before hosting and domain. Our website cost guide breaks the ranges down. We give one fixed quote in US dollars after a free review.
If you sell mainly to customers in Tanzania, a .co.tz address tells people and search engines that you are local, and Tanzanian registrars list it from about TZS 22,500 a year. If you sell mostly to overseas visitors, as safari operators do, a .com is usually the better main address. You can own both and point one at the other.
Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 requires data controllers and processors to register with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC regulations). A website that collects enquiries, accounts or orders processes personal data, so most businesses selling online should check. We build the privacy notice and consent into the site; the registration is yours, and a Tanzanian lawyer can confirm what applies to you.
Most business websites launch in three to six weeks, online stores in four to seven weeks, and a first WhatsApp AI agent in two to four weeks. The written scope gives you the dates before any work starts.
We build every site so Google, Bing and AI assistants can read it, with structured data that describes your business. Rankings also depend on competition and on what other websites say about you, so we never promise positions. Our SEO and AI brand visibility services cover that work.
