What will WhatsApp Business API cost you?

Meta charges per delivered message, priced by category (marketing, utility, authentication or service) and by the recipient’s country code. Since October 1, 2026, replies to customers (service messages) are charged too, after 1,000 free per business phone number each month, and utility templates are charged even while a chat is open (Meta).

On October 13, 2026, Meta’s rates were INR 0.8631 per marketing message and INR 0.1150 per utility, authentication or service message in India, and AED 0.2115 per marketing message and AED 0.0576 per utility, authentication or service message in the UAE. The full table is on this page.

Only the first 1,000 each month. Since October 1, 2026, Meta gives each business phone number 1,000 free service messages a month and charges the service rate after that. A conversation that starts from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad opens a free entry point window of up to 7 days, in which marketing, utility, authentication and service messages are all free.

Often, yes. Many Business Solution Providers add a markup per message or a monthly platform fee on top of Meta’s rates. If you connect directly through Meta’s Cloud API, as we do for our clients, you pay Meta’s rates with no markup.

The rate depends on the customer’s phone number, not where your business is. A Dubai business messaging an Indian number pays the India rate.
